The Advance Diploma in Teaching (ACT) will replace the ACE that is being phased out. The Grade R diploma is a three year qualification for students who want to become gr R teachers.
The Advance Diploma in Education (ADE) is a new qualification presented at NQF 7. Students who have an ACT or B.Ed. degree can enroll for this qualification.
The B.Ed. in Foundation Phase Teaching and B.Ed. in Further Education and Training degrees will also be implemented in 2017. Students who want to enroll for these degrees need to pass matric with exemption.
By the end of November, over a hundred students have registered for these programmes.
Students who enroll for above mentioned courses will also attend Biblical studies as well as Christian pedagogics. The aim of these contact sessions is to improve their Biblical knowledge and to equip them to act as Christians in public or private schools.
For these extra normative modules we expect that students will receive an unaccredited certificate from the Viaa Gereformeerde Hogeschool of Zwolle in the Netherlands.
