Mukhanyo Praise and Prayer - April 2020

10/4/2020

Picture
And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves;
but he was asleep. And they went and woke him, saying, ‘Save us, Lord; we are perishing.’ And he said to them, ‘Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?’ Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.”
(Matthew 8:24-26)

While the world is in turmoil and many hearts are filled with fear and panic about the disease that is spreading across the globe, we are privileged to know and fully believe that the God of heaven and earth is in control. In fact, the Lord Jesus who asked the disciples during the storm on the sea why they were afraid and encouraged them to have faith, is the same yesterday, today and forever. We can still trust Him and rest in Him during these difficult times.
  1. Let us pray that the Lord will help His children across the world to keep their eyes on Him and trust Him in the difficult times we are experiencing. In the weeks and months to come, the effect of this will be felt in all aspects of life.
  2. We thank the Lord for the ministry of Mukhanyo and His provision in so many ways. Please pray that He will keep management, staff and students close to Himself.
  3. We thank the Lord for a blessed graduation ceremony on Saturday 7 March. It is our prayer that those graduates will be faithful ministers of the Word wherever they will be serving. May the Lord encourage and strengthen them!
  4. We thank the Lord for a blessed seminar on “Teaching Children Effectively” that was held at our KwaMhlanga campus on Saturday 14 March. Attendance was good and teaching was very much appreciated. Please pray that those who attended the seminar will be able to put in practise what they have learned and that there will be a greater awareness in local churches and among parents of the need to bring the Word to children on their level and from a young age.
  5. Like many other institutions and organisations, MTC had to adjust the programme to protect the health of our students and staff. As a result, the students will have a longer Easter break. Classes stopped on 19 March and will only resume on 14 April, God willing. Staff won’t be on campus either during this period. Please pray for the Mukhanyo family that the Lord may use them to proclaim the gospel of salvation and the message of hope in these difficult times and that this period will be a time of rest and spiritual refreshment for all.
  6. Pray for wisdom for MTC management to take the right decisions regarding the programme to accommodate the necessary changes in the coming weeks and months.
  7. The annual Bible College Consultation is scheduled to be held in June 2020. Much preparation on different levels is needed for this. Please pray for the Lord’s guidance in the weeks to come whether this event should be postponed or not and that the Lord will give good progress with all preparations.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea…” (Psalm 46:1-2)
