Prayer and Praise - October 2022

10/10/2022

A well-known old Afrikaans poem refers to October as “the most beautiful month”. Spring has been in the air a few weeks already, but at the time of writing, we are receiving the first rains in our area – where there is no rain during winter. We are looking forward to seeing grass and trees turning green again! God’s creation is so beautiful and
that reminds us of His might and power as well as His grace and love!

By God’s grace, the ministry at Mukhanyo is continuing and we gladly share some items for prayer and praise:
  1. Thanks the Lord with us that the Site Visit by the Council of Higher Education on 12 September went well. It will take a while before we receive an official report from them, but we are grateful that there seem to be no immediate concerns.

  2. Our students will enjoy a two week study break and return to class on 11 October. Pray that it will be time of refreshment, but also catching up with their work. When they resume, there will only be four weeks left before the exams.

  3. Apart from all the daily activities, the following is on the calendar for October:
    1. Monday 10 October – Faculty Forum
    2. Tuesday 11 October – Executive Committee meeting
    3. Monday 17 October – Student Support Committee meeting
    4. 19-21, 24-25 October – Th.M. module Covenant Theology
    5. Monday 24 October – Academic Committee meeting
    6. Wednesday 26 October – Regional Coordinators meeting
    7. Thursday 27 October – Student Farewell function for KwaMhlanga final year students

  4. From January 2023, we will start using new computer systems in various departments at Mukhanyo, D.V. This includes library, finance, student and lecturer portals, and other integrated systems. Please pray with us for:
    1. All the preparation that need to be done during the next two months to get this in place.
    2. For wisdom for those leading this project.
    3. For staff members that will be involved and will receive training.
    4. For the Distance tutors and all students that will also need to training.

  5. Thank the Lord with us for all the faithful staff serving at Mukhanyo. We are currently seeking a secretary for our Durban centre and an assistant librarian for the Johannesburg campus in addition to two more senior lecturers. Pray that the Lord will send the right people to serve on the Mukhanyo team.

  6. Pray that the Lord will send the right people to Mukhanyo to study here in 2023. It is our prayer that it will be those that are called by God and have a desire and commitment to Him for His service with His church.

  7. Thank the Lord with us for His provision that the ministry can continue unhindered and please pray that He will continue to provide in every need. We also thank Him for the friends that support us with their gifts and prayers and it is our prayer that He will bless them too!

Thank you for your interest and prayer support!
