“From of old no one has heard or perceived by the ear, no eye has seen a God besides you, who acts for those who wait for Him.”
(Isaiah 64:4)

The year 2019 is rapidly passing by and there are only two months of it left. However, the month of November that is ahead of us promises to be a busy one and we will value your prayers for our activities.
  1. Thank the Lord for our students at our various locations. All our contact students and several of those that study through Distance, will be writing exams during November. Please pray that they will be able to focus on their studies and do well in their exams.
  2. It is our prayer that the students will not only gain academic knowledge but, more important, grow in their relationship with the Lord through their studies at Mukhanyo.
  3. Thank the Lord with us for His provision for the College and the students. Many of the students still have to settle the final payment of their fees before the end of the year and this is a challenge to some. It is our prayer that they will learn to trust God for their needs and that He will provide for them.
  4. Please pray with us for the following that is on the programme for November:
    -
Tuesday 5 to Thursday 21 November: Exams for contact students
    -
Monday 4 November: Executive Management meeting
    -
Monday 4 November: HR Committee meeting
    - M
onday 11 November: Audit and Risk Committee meeting
    -
    Tuesday 12 November: Staff Forum
    -
Wednesday 20 November: Operations Committee meeting
    - T
    hursday 28 November: Post-moderation meeting
    -
    Thursday 28 November: Board meeting.
  5. Things are going well at our Advanced Learning Centre in Rustenburg (North West Province). It is our prayer that a good number of students will enrol for 2020 and that dedicated lecturers will be found to teach there.
  6. Preparations for the Durban Centre are well underway. We are trusting the Lord to guide step by step and that everything will be in place when we have to start classes in January 2020.
  7. There are two vacancies for admin staff and lecturers are needed at various centres – pray that the Lord will provide committed people to serve in these roles.
  8. Pray that the Lord will encourage and strengthen all our staff in their walk with Him and in their ministry at Mukhanyo.

Thank you for your prayer support!

“The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised.” (Psalm 18:2-3)

We are blessed to know that our Lord is worthy to be praised and that we may call upon Him.

  1. Thank the Lord with us for His faithful provision for Mukhanyo! Pray that He will bless our faithful donors and intercessors and that He will continue to provide so that the ministry can continue unhindered.

  2. Thank the Lord with us for the good start and progress at our Advanced Learning Centre in Rustenburg (North West Province). It is our prayer that this may continue to grow and that the Lord will provide students and part-time lecturers for 2020. Please also pray for Eben le Roux who is leading this.

  3. We are looking forward to starting an Advanced Learning Centre in the Durban area (KwaZulu/Natal). There are several MTC Distance groups in the wider area and quite a number of students who completed their Diploma and want to do B.Th. The plan is to meet this need in 2020 by means of a Mukhanyo Centre there. We thank the Lord for Antonio Coppola that joined Mukhanyo and will lead this project. Please pray for him and that everything will fall into place.

  4. On Saturday 26 October an Alumni and Church Leaders conference will be held at KwaMhlanga camp us, God willing. Former principal, Dr P.J. (Flip) Buys, will be the guest speaker and it is our prayer that:
    - T he Lord will bless the teaching from God’s Word that will be given.
    - The Lord will use this event to encourage alumni and other church leaders in ministry.
-The event will serve that we can catch up with many of our alumni.
    - Pros pective students will be called to study at MTC.

  5. October will be the last month of classes for 2020. Please pray that our students will not only grow in academic knowledge, but even more so in their relationship with the Lord.

  6. Please pray for a good intake of students for 2020 at all our centres. It is our desire that the Lord will use MTC to equip people for Christian ministry.

  7. Pray with us that the Lord will continue to work in the lives of MTC staff and students and that we may all continue to grow closer to Him in our spiritual walk.

Thank you for your prayer support!

“‘Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!’ The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.”
(Psalm 46:10-11)

Aren’t we privileged by having the joy to know that the Lord of heaven and earth, the Lord of hosts, is with us. We can rest in Him and be still before Him while we can have full confidence that we may bring our needs to Him in prayer! Therefore, we gladly share some items for praise and prayer so that you can join us again in prayer for the Mukhanyo ministry.

  1. We are still in the process of identifying a suitable on-line system for our Academic Records and related info – a Student Information System as well as a Learning Management System. There is good progress with this. Please pray for wisdom with the final decisions. Pray also for Guilherme Rios who is managing this project, a volunteer with skills in this area who is currently serving at MTC. We thank the Lord that he is with us at this point.

  2. During September some strategic planning meetings will be held regarding our marketing department. Please pray for wisdom in this. There are various key areas, including marketing for students for 2020 at all our centres and seeking to be more effective with our day conferences.

  3. On the teaching schedule there is a weekly slot for mentorship to students. Please pray for those involved with this – that the Lord will guide and enable them to be a blessing to the students and that He will use this to bring forth spiritual growth in the students’ lives.

  4. From Wednesday 25 to Friday 27 September our annual Distance Forum will be held at our KwaMhlanga campus for all Distance group leaders / tutors, D.V. There is great interest in this and prayer will be appreciated for:
    - Safe travelling for all attending – some will be coming from quite far.
    - The Lord’s blessing on every devotion, workshop, teaching and item on the programme.
    - That the tutors will be encouraged in their walk with the Lord and their ministry.
    - That this will enhance the quality of our Distance programme and will also benefit the students.

  5. The following general items are on the calendar for September:
    - Tuesday 3 September – Staff Forum
    - Saturdays 7 and 21 September – Day-seminars at KwaMhlanga campus on Church Eldership.
    - Monday 16 September – Executive Management meeting.
    - Wednesday 18 September – Operations Committee meeting.
    - Monday 30 September – Faculty Forum

  6. Pray for all our staff that they will experience a close walk with the Lord and experience His guidance and peace as they seek to serve Him at MTC and in their personal lives.

Thank you for your prayer support

“You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvellous light."
(1 Peter 2:9).

At Mukhanyo the second semester of 2019 has started and students are back in class. Thank you for standing with us in this through your prayers. It is our privilege to share some items with you for prayer and praise:

  1. Thank the Lord with us that our students are back to take up their studies again. Some are facing challenges to cover their fees and we trust the Lord to give them wisdom in this and to provide for them.
  2. With the help of our IT team we are seeking to find a suitable on-line system for our Academic Records and related info – a Student Information System as well as a Learning Management System. This is a big step and we are dependent on the Lord’s guidance that the right choice will be made.
  3. Things are happening at our new Advanced Learning Centre at Rustenburg (North West Province) as classes started there too. Most of the students attending are former Distance students as there were two groups of Distance students operating in the area for many years. Pray for growth in this area and for wisdom how to develop the centre further.
  4. As result of the good interest and the request to start an Advanced Learning Centre in Durban (KwaZulu/Natal) Mukhanyo is investigating possibilities. Pray with us for the Lord’s guidance and provision in various ways for this if it is His will.
  5. The following is on the calendar for August:
    - Monday 5 August – HR Committee  meeting
    - Wednesday 7 August – Audit and Risk Committee meeting
    - Monday 19 August – Executive Management Committee meeting
    - Wednesday 21 August – Education Committee meeting
    - Tuesday 27 August – Academic Committee meeting
    -
Thursday 29 August – Board meeting
  6. Pray that our contact as well as distance students will grow in their relationship with the Lord while they are studying at Mukhanyo – so that they may indeed “proclaim the excellencies of Him who called them out of darkness into His marvellous light”!
  7. Pray that our staff, faculty and support staff, will not lose their vision of the actual task they are involved in, namely the training of pastors and Christian leaders.

Wishing you the Lord’s richest blessing!

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” - (Joshua 1:8)
Thank you to each one who is joining in prayer for the ministry here at Mukhanyo. This is very precious to us and we gladly share a few points for praise and prayer.
  1. Thank the Lord with us that the meeting in Durban (KwaZulu/Natal province) to discuss the possibility of an Advanced Learning Centre there, was well attended and very positively received. Please pray for the Lord’s guidance and provision in this matter.
  2. Thank the Lord with us that the annual Bible College Consultation held by Mukhanyo went very well. With about 100 delegates (MTC staff excluded) from about 40 institutions, churches and organisations, we are very grateful for the attendance. We thank the Lord for His blessing on the teachings and the fellowship, and that everything went well.
  3. Pray for our Distance students – that they will persevere in their studies even though progress might be slow amidst a full daily programme.
  4. At times our students experience pressure from non-Christian family and friends to take part in certain rituals. Please pray for them that they will be faithful to study the Word and that the Lord will keep them close to Himself and will give them wisdom how to deal with such situations.
  5. Please pray for the ground work that is being done in the Rustenburg area (North-West province) regarding the new Advanced Learning Centre there. Some classes are already on the go and we hope to see significant growth there soon.
  6. The following is on the programme for July:
 Saturday 6 July: A youth conference at our KwaMhlanga campus.
 Monday 8 to Friday 12 July: A block course module on Counselling for B.Th. students.
 Thursday 11 and Friday 12 July: Two days of strategic planning by staff and managers.
 Monday 15 July: Faculty Forum for all our lecturers.
 Tuesday 16 July: Classes for the second semester will start.
 Monday 22 July: Executive Committee meeting.
 Tuesday 30 July: Academic Committee meeting.
 Wednesday 31 July: Operations Committee meeting.
  7. Thank the Lord for each staff member serving at MTC – on campus and at the various centres. Please pray that the Lord will help them to be students of the Word and that He will bless them in their work and service.
May the Lord bless you as you are supporting us with your prayers!

  2. On Wednesday 5 June 3 members of the Executive Committee will travel to Durban to attend some meetings to discuss the possibility of an Advanced Learning Centre
  3. The quarterly Board meeting is scheduled on Thursday 6 June. Thank the Lord for those who willingly serve on our Board and please pray that the Lord will give them wisdom for every matter.
  4. The Bible College Consultation will be held from 11 to 13 June. Please join us in prayer for the following:
 All the final preparations and the practical work behind the scenes.
 Good attendance and safe travelling for all who will join us.
 That the Lord will equip and use the speakers, bless the teachings and use it to bring about much growth in the quality of Theological Training in Southern Africa.  That attendees will be blessed through the fellowship and that the Lord will keep His hand over the whole event.
  5. All lecturers will gather on Friday 14 June for the Assessment meeting where the results of the students will be discussed and evaluated. Please pray for wisdom and that this meeting will contribute to rendering a good service to our students.
  6. Our students are currently enjoying the mid-year break. Please pray that the Lord will keep them close to Himself and use them as witnesses for Him while they spend time with family and friends of whom some are not Christians.
  7. Thanks the Lord with us for His faithful financial provision that the ministry of Mukhanyo can continue. Pray that He will continue to do so and will also send the right people to fill the current vacancies.
  8. Please pray that the Lord will bless our staff members and students and strengthen them in their relationship with him. Lately one student and a staff member lost their spouse. Others have close relatives that battle serious illnesses. May the Lord especially encourage and strengthen those.

“And as they [the women] were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them,
‘Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen.’”
(Luke 24:5-6)
During Easter weekend we were reminded afresh that Christ died for us to bring salvation. He not only died but rose from the dead and we have the wonderful privilege to serve a risen Saviour! May we do so whole heartedly!
  1. We thank the Lord for the Mukhanyo staff and students. It is our prayer that each one will have a personal relationship with the Risen Saviour and grow in their walk with Him and the knowledge of God’s Word.
  2. Thank the Lord with us that the Mukhanyo ministry has been serving for 25 years this year! This is a wonderful milestone for which we are very grateful. Pray that we will remain faithful to the infallible Word of God and teaching that faithfully.
  3. The following is on the agenda for May:
 Saturday 11 May: Thanksgiving Day and Annual General Meeting at 08:30 and 13:30 respectively. Pray that many prayer friends and supporters will be able to attend that these events will be to the glory and honour of God’s name.
 From 14 to end of May: Exams for students studying at full-time centres.
 Wednesday 22 May: Operations Committee meeting
 Monday 27 May: HR Committee meeting
 Tuesday 28 May: Executive Committee meeting
 Tuesday 28 May: Staff Forum at KwaMhlanga campus
 Wednesday 29 May: Audit and Risk committee meeting.
  4. For many years there has been a Mukhanyo distance learning site in Rustenburg (North West Province). Mukhanyo is now developing this site into a full-time advanced learning centre. Dr Eben le Roux joined the Mukhanyo family last month to serve in this area. Please pray for the Lord’s guidance and provision for this new centre.
  5. The Bible College Consultation will be held from 11 to 13 June. Currently marketing and preparations are on the go. Please pray that it will be possible for many to attend and that the Lord will guide the MTC staff that are busy with preparations.
  6. Mukhanyo is exploring the possibility of a learning centre in the Durban area (KwaZulu/Natal province) in the future. Pray with us that the Lord will guide step by step as some meetings will take place early June to discuss this.
May the Lord bless you as you are standing with us through your prayers!

“Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.” - (Isaiah 53:4-5)
  1. Thank the Lord for our students and pray that they will return to class spiritually and physically refreshed. Lectures resume on 2 April.
  2. We thank the Lord for our Graduation ceremony that took place on 9 March. Please pray with us that those who received their qualification, will be used by the Lord to spread the Word of God effectively.
  3. The Pastoral Couple conference on 16 March was a great blessing. Attendance was encouraging and the teachings were received very well. We thank the Lord for this and hope that similar events can be held in future.
  4. Apart from the daily ongoing programme, the following specific dates are on our programme for April:
 Monday 1 April: Faculty Forum
 Monday 1 April: Executive Committee meeting
 Saturday 6 April: Seminar at KwaMhlanga campus with theme: “How to teach children effectively”. This will focus on Sunday School teachers and there is great need in this area.
 Tuesday 23 April: Academic Committee meeting.
  5. We are very grateful for each person who is serving the Lord at Mukhanyo. Please pray that the Lord will encourage them in their labour and that He will send the right people to fill the vacancies which there still are.

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, ‘My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’” (Psalm 91:1-2)
The first semester of 2019 is about halfway and our staff and students are all working hard and focused on the training.
  1. Thank the Lord with us for the students that are studying at Mukhanyo and pray that they will not only be successful in their studies, but will also grow in their relationship with the Lord.
  2. Thank the Lord with us for the intercessors and financial supporters of Mukhanyo. Without them it would have, humanly speaking, been impossible to continue with this ministry. Pray that the Lord will continue to provide for Mukhanyo as a College and also for the students as some are struggling to pay their fees.
  3. Apart from the daily ongoing programme, the following specific dates are on our programme for March:
 Tuesday 5 March: Meetings by the Academic Committee and the Executive Committee.
 Thursday 7 March: Board meeting.
 Saturday 9 March: Graduation Ceremony at KwaMhlanga campus.
 Saturday 16 March: Conference for Pastoral Couples at KwaMhlanga campus.
 Tuesday 19 March: Staff Forum
 Tuesday 26 March: Executive committee meeting.
 Wednesday 27 March: Operations Committee meeting
 Friday 29 March: A training day for all support staff.
  4. Once to twice per week we have a Devotion service for all staff and students on campus. Lecturers or guest speakers give a sermon during this meeting. Please pray that all those attending will be spiritually edified by these teachings.
  5. We thank the Lord for new faculty members that joined us in the beginning of 2019. Please pray that the Lord will encourage our faculty and supportive staff members and that each will labour faithfully with the main goal in mind: The training of church leaders so that the Word of God can be preached effectively and souls can be saved.
  6. Crime and theft is very high in our country. Please pray for the safety of our staff and students also in their daily travel, as well as for the safety of Mukhanyo property.
Thank you for your prayer support.

“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity.”
(2 Peter 3:18)

The new year has started and it is our prayer and desire that the Lord will use the ministry of Mukhanyo Theological College during 2019. Thank you that we may again share some prayer requests in this regard.

  1. Thank the Lord for the time of rest all our staff and students could enjoy during the annual holidays over Christmas and New Year and that everybody returned safely.
  2. Thank the Lord for the new students that joined us at KwaMhlanga campus as well as at the Learning Centres in Pretoria and Johannesburg. Please pray that they will soon feel at home and will get used to their new environment.
  3. Thank the Lord with us that a suitable venue for our Pretoria Learning Centre was found and that the necessary renovations could be completed in time to re-open there after the holidays. The renovations at Johannesburg Learning Centre were also completed. Thank the Lord for His provision!
  4. Several of our students have difficulty meeting their financial needs – even after receiving a bursary for part of their fees. Pray that the Lord will provide for them so that they can continue.
  5. This year we could officially launch the B.Th. Honours at our KwaMhlanga campus. Thank the Lord for this addition to our programme and pray that students will be better equipped for ministry.
  6. We are greatly encouraged that most dragging uncertainties regarding MTC’s accreditation matters are sorted. Pray that we will also receive a positive outcome on our application for the two Higher Certificates soon. (These two courses of one year each, will replace the Diploma course which we have to discontinue in the future.)
  7. Our Graduation Ceremony is planned for Saturday 9 March – please pray for those who have to deal with the many logistics in preparation for this.
  8. We thank the Lord for the many Distance Groups that use our programme. Many of these students are studying part-time. Pray that they will persevere and that the Lord will use them as witnesses for Him in their surroundings.
  9. Pray that all our staff and students will be faithful in their walk with the Lord and will grow in grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour. Some come from families that are not Christians – please pray that the Lord will strengthen them spiritually and that their lives may be living testimonies.
Thank you for your precious prayer support!
