Dr Brian A De Vries
Dr Brian A De Vries (BBA, M.Div., Th.M., Ph.D.) is Principal and Senior Lecturer at Mukhanyo Theological College. He is a minister of the Reformed Churches of South Africa (GKSA), sent to South Africa in 2005 as a minister of the Heritage Reformed Congregations of North America (HRC-NA). Dr de Vries is presently leading his third church plant in South Africa and also serves as senior lecturer on the faculty of theology at North West University and visiting professor at Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary in the United States. He and his wife Lanae are blessed with four children
Rev Paul Mahlangu
B.Th., B.A. Hon., is a Lecturer. Since 1985 he has served as the Pastor in the Church of Jesus Christ, Tweefontein District and serves on the KwaNdebele Regional Executive Committee. He also leads a few Mukhanyo Distance groups and does other church based pastors training programmes.
Mr Jacques Malan
M.Th., came to saving faith in Christ at the age of 17 and has had a burden to reach others with the gospel since then. He first worked as a civil engineer in Pretoria, but soon felt led by the Lord to full-time Christian ministry. From 1995 to 2014 he served full-time with the Dorothea Mission. As evangelist, he was part of a multi-cultural team, first in South Africa and then in Namibia. Later he also lectured at the Dorothea Bible College and was appointed as Director of the Dorothea Mission. He has a strong vision for promoting biblical evangelism and preaching in Southern Africa and joined the Mukhanyo staff in January 2015. He obtained a L.Th. (BISA), a B.Th. Honours (SATS) and his M.Th. through the Baptist Theological College.
Dr Japie Malan
BA (Theology), BD, Th.M, PGCHE (Pret), PhD (in New Testament). He served as a chaplain in the SADF after his initial studies. Thereafter he ministered as a pastor in two Dutch Reformed congregations and started and taught at the Trichardt Bible School. In 1994 he founded a faith mission: “Adullam”, near Secunda, which is a non-profit organisation for the spreading of the Gospel and the upliftment of the previous disadvantaged communities in the region. He has been serving as chair person and director for Adullam Trust since its founding. He has been serving as Head Teacher for Adullam Christian Academy for the past 14 years and taught there. He has also been involved in evangelistic meetings in different areas in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique. He is the manager at the Johannesburg campus of Mukhanyo and also lecturers there.
Rev Isaac Maleke
B.Th, B.A. Hon., serves as the Head of Student Support at Mukhanyo. In addition to lecturing and leadership on the Executive Committee, he provides pastoral support for our students and works to strengthen their spirituality. Rev. Maleke is an alumnus of the college and also serves as senior pastor in Tweefontein, a community of the greater KwaMhlanga area.
BA; HOD Hons, was a teacher as various government schools and later that the Gereformeerde Skool Dirk Postma in Pretoria. She has also been involved in adult training in Microsoft Project and MS Office programmes. Amanda is passionate about training and teaching and lectures English and Study Skills at Mukhanyo’s KwaMhlanga campus. She counts it a blessing to be able to work and teach in a Christian environment. Amanda and her husband are living near Bronkhorstspruit and are members of the Reformed Church there.
Rev Peter Manzanga
Dip. in Biblical Studies, BA.Th., BA. Hons., MA. NT., PhD candidate) studied at the Bible Institute of South Africa and George Whitefield College. He was Lecturer and Principal of Rusitu Bible College for ten years and after that resident pastor of Hatfield United Baptist Church based in Harare. Rev Manzanga has also taught modules at Harare Theological College and Mukhanyo Theological College in South Africa before and joined Mukhanyo full-time in May 2017. He is still a visiting lecturer at Rusitu Bible College. He is married to Alice and are blessed with three boys and three girls.
Dr Willie Zeze
LTh., B.D., Th.M., D.Th., is Resource Specialist and a lecturer in the department of Ecclesiology: Church History and Church Polity. Dr Zeze is currently lecturing in the subjects of African Church History and Systematic Theology I (Creeds and Confessions). He is an ordained minister and a former Actuaries of the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP), Nkhoma Synod in Malawi. He has served in many areas as pastor as well as lecturer in different Theological Colleges. Dr. Zeze is a member of the Church History Society for Central and Southern Africa and International Consortium for Law and Religion in Central and Southern Africa.
Rev Benjamin Zulu
B.Th, BA Hons, Greek Hons, M.Div, M.A Greek (progress), is an alumni of Mukhanyo who is now lecturing New Testament, Bible History, Christian Character and Spiritual growth at the KwaMhlanga campus. From 2008 to 2010, he was involved with the establishment of what was then called "Sunnyside Multi Cultural Church, in Pretoria. From 2011 to 2015 he worked under the guardianship of Prof. R. Hobyane to the spiritual growth of Promosa Reformed Church. He is currently ministering in the Reformed Church Mooifontein, English Service, in Kempton Park.
Dr Gerrit Heino
Dr Gerrit Heino (BSc, BEd (VU – Amsterdam); BTh (CHE); Hons BTh, MTh and DTh (UNISA)). Gerrit was born
in the Netherlands and was trained as a computer programmer in 1974 while studying part-time for BSc and
BEd. In 1980 he changed career and joined Education. His first qualification in Theology was obtained in 1987.
In 1986 he and his wife, José, came to South Africa where he served as teacher and principal in the previous
Bophuthatswana, which is now part of the more rural areas of North West Province. In 1991 they returned to the Netherlands and Gerrit started teaching at the Driestar College in Gouda and from 1996 at the Wartburg College – location Revius in Rotterdam. In the meanwhile he continued his studies in Theology and also followed three accredited courses for Supervisor, Learning Supervisor and Certified Coach. He is a registered
member of the Dutch association for supervision and coaching (LVSC). In 2005 Gerrit was appointed on a part-time basis as teacher educator at Driestar Christian University for Teacher Education in Gouda. He is a registered member of the Dutch association for teacher educators (VELON). Presently he is serving the International Network for Christian Education in the Netherlands (Driestar Christian University for Teacher
Education/Woord en Daad) for one day a week. Gerrit and his wife returned to South Africa in early 2017 when he joined Mukhanyo on a full-time basis as senior lecturer. They have three sons and one daughter in law who all live in the Netherlands.

Dr Juan Mienie
(Dip Theol, BTh (Hons), MTh, DTh - Systematic Theology) is a Senior Lecturer at Mukhanyo Theological College. He was minister - later vice principal and lecturer at the Evangelical Reformed Seminary (S.A) since 1998 until 2016. Currently he is related to the Reformed Churches of South Africa (GKSA) where he serves as an elder and in an application process for ministry in these churches. He has been involved in lecturing at Mukhanyo since 2017.
Rev Ben Fourie
BA, BA Hons, MA, ThB, MTh Status Old Testament Theology. Currently he is writing his PhD thesis on Psalm 82. He was an accredited lecturer at the Hammanskraal Theological Seminary in Hebrew, Aramaicand Latin. When it closed down in 1996, he became involved in the Mukhanyo College since 1998 as part time lecturer. Initially he taught Hebrew, but soon afterwards became involved as lecturer in Old Testament Theology up to the end of 2009. He became involved again as lecturer in Hebrew since April 2012. He is a full-time reverend at the Gereformeerde Kerk Kameeldrift. He is serving there since 1986. He was widely involved in ecumenical affairs and travelled extensively. He is married to Susan. They have four children. The eldest, together with his wife, is reverend at Belville, the second son (also married) is a businessman, the third son and daughter are English Language Teachers in South Korea.
Dr Arthur Miskin
B.Sc., M. BChB., M. Med. O&G, M.Div., is a lecturer in the department of Practical Theology. Subjects he teaches include Pastoral Theology, Homiletics and Practical Preaching. In addition, he has also been tasked with teaching Hermeneutics and Old Testament Exegesis. He is the pastor of the Reformed Church Tshwane, which is affiliated with Reformed Church, Rietvallei, having been seconded to this task by the Heritage Reformed Congregation of Burgessville, Ontario. Dr. Miskin is also involved in the running of the Nakekela HIV/AIDS Hospice in Tweefontein, KwaMhlanga.
B.Th.; B.A. Hons, spent most of his life in banking. In 2005 he changed directions and studied at Mukhanyo and later did his Honors through North West University. He helped to revitalize Good News Community Church, the original owners of the building that now belongs to MTC. They are still worshipping on the campus on Sundays. He lecturers at Mukhanyo’s Johannesburg campus.
Rev Glyn Williams
B.Th., is the owner of Grace Media, a Christian book supplier, serving churches, ministries and Bible colleges on a mail order basis. After completing his B.Th. in 1996, Glyn has served in various capacities in leading youth ministries, Sunday Schools, men's ministries, Bible studies and sound engineering. In 2006 after working in retail pharmacy for 11 years, Glyn completed his Certificate in Small Business Management and went on to start Grace Media with his wife, Linda. Currently he is an itinerant preacher and speaker, attends Wychwood Baptist Church and facilitates an expository preachers group on the East Rand. Glyn is currently working on his Honours in Theology at SATS and lectures at Mukhanyo’s Johannesburg campus.
Rev Chaka Mathundela
B.Th. Hon; B.A. Hons Greek; M.Div.; M.Th. NT.; Ph.D., has been serving as a pastor at the Reformed Church Daveyton since 20111. His research concentrates on aspects of Reconciliation, New Testament, Ecclessiology (Church Polity, Church history), pastoral and ecumenical research. Rev Chaka is a part-time lecturer at Mukhanyo.
Rev. Gideon Mpeni
B.Th.; Diploma Missiology, was the Mission co-ordinator at Hope Missions International in Malawi from 2004 to 2008. Afterwards he served as a high school teacher at the Jahari Christian Academy. He is currently busy with furthers studies (B.Ed. and B.Th. Hons.) while he is a pastor at Crystal Park Baptist Church. Gideon is a part-time lecturer at Mukhanyo’s Johannesburg campus.
Began lecturing at Mukhanyo last year. He heads up the Shepherds School at
Brackenhurst Baptist Church, Alberton where he and his wife, Deborah, are members. He also teaches high school Classical Literature, History, and Theology as well as Logic and Rhetoric at homeschool co-ops on the West Rand and in Midrand. Jeff has pastored two churches over the span of 21 years in the USA and South Africa. Deborah and Jeff have been married for 28 years, and they have six children – Caleb (26), Joseph (24), Rebecca (23), Rachel (19), Lehlohonolo (13), and Sibongile (11).
Dr Barend Hefer
(B.Th.; B.A.; B.A. Hon. in Ancient languages; M.A. in Greek; Ph.D. in Greek) is pastor of the Afrikaans church Gereformeerde Protestantse Kerk Brakpan since 2011. He did his theological studies at the Afrikaanse Protestantse Akademie in Pretoria, and his post-degree studies in Greek at the NWU Potchefstroom. He is currently a part-time lecturer in New Testament and Hermeneutics at the Johannesburg Campus of Mukhanyo.
Mr Kidane Tesfay
BTh. Hons, graduated from Mukhanyo and did an Hons degree at BTC. He is teaching Hebrew at the Mukhanyo Pretoria distance learning centre. He is a member of Grace Reformed Church of Northern Pretoria. He serves on the church's steering committee. He is also active in an Eritrean congregation in Sunnysid`
Rev Gesse Almeida Rios
Dip. Religious Education., B.Th., Dip. Missiology. Studied at the Biblical Institute of the North, the Presbyterian Seminary of the North and the CPAJ-Mackenzie University. He was a resident pastor of the Presbyterian Church Lirio dos Vales until 1994 when he was called into trans-cultural missionary work for IPB-Presbyterian Church of Brazil. He worked for 2 years in Beira, Mozambique, in the Bible Institute of Sofala where he taught Church History and Systematic Theology. He then went on to do outreach work with refugees in Cape Town, South Africa for the Presbyterian Agency of Transcultural Mission of the Presbyterian Church of Brazil (APMT/IPB), from 2002-2016. Since 2009 he has been appointed as APMT's mission director for the Southern Africa region. Rev Gesse Rios and his wife Iolanda have been married for 30 years and they have 3 sons: Guilherme, Philipe and Leonardo.
B.Sc. (Mathematics and Statistics), B.A. (Hebrew & Greek), B.A. Hon. (Hebrew & Greek), M.A. (Greek – in progress). He is currently ministering the Word at the Reformed Church Bet-el, Pretoria. Starting out as an actuarial student in the banking industry, the Lord later called him into the ministry. He facilitated the distance B.Th. studies (through North West University) in Pretoria the last couple of years, and specifically helped the students with their Greek and Hebrew. The Lord has blessed him with a virtuous woman and six children.
Rev Elias Masango
Elias Masango is a minister of the Gospel serving at Johannesburg Bible College and Christ Church Horizon (REACH SA). He previously served at Welamlambo Baptist Mission in Tembisa near Kempton Park for two and half years sent by Birchleigh Baptist Church. Before that, he ministered for five years as a student pastor and five years full-time in Bramfischerville in Soweto and a short term in St Matthews Church in Leondale under the auspices of what is now called
REACH SA (formerly Church of England in South Africa). He was born in Witklipbank in the district of Delmas and grew up in a village called Tweefontein in what was known as KwaNdebele (Ndebele Homeland) in Mpumalanga. He completed his BTh studies through Mukhanyo Theological College in KwaMhlanga, where he taught part-time, and his Honours through George Whitefield College in Cape Town both accredited by North West University. He has been working for the past five years as a lecturer at
Johannesburg Bible College, two years part time and three full-time. He is married to Nozipho and they are blessed with a daughter Sindisiwe.
Dr PJ (Flip) Buys
B.A., B.Th., Th. M. and Th.D., founder of Mukhanyo Theological College in 1994. He is an ordained minister in the Reformed Churches in South Africa (GKSA) since 1973. After serving two churches as pastor he became a cross-cultural missionary in 1984. He planted several churches in and around both Sharpeville and KwaMhlanga. He is the Associate International Director of World Reformed Fellowship. He serves as an adjunct professor of Missions at the North-West University in Potchefstroom. He has published several elementary textbooks and various articles in academic and theological journals. He and his wife Hanneke have been married for 41 years; they have two adult children and one granddaughter.
Dr John Carson
(M.Div, Ph.D Aberdeen) was ordained in 1973 and has pastored two churches in the Charlotte, NC area. He served as a Professor of historical theology at Erskine Theological Seminary, later becoming
President of Erskine College and Seminary. He has co-edited the book To Glorify and Enjoy God (Banner of Truth). Dr Carson presently serves in World Witness, the missions agency of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, as a professor with the Mobile Theological Training Team (MT3), teaching regularly in Africa. He is also the pastoral counselor and strategic coordinator for the Secular Europe field. He and his wife have 4 children and 8 grandchildren.
Rev David G. Galletta
M.Div. (Gordon-Conwell) D. Min. (Covenant), Ph.D. (candidate), served for five years in Moscow, Russia, as a theological educator before joining MT3. He was ordained in 1992 and has been a pastor in Edmonton and Maryland, the latter with a very multi-cultural urban congregation. He currently resides in Silver Spring, Maryland and has taught in Mexico, Africa and Eastern Europe. He has pastored at Crestwood Presbyterian Church, Edmonton, Alberta (1992-1996) and was an associate at Presbyterian Church of the Atonement (1996-2001). Rev Galletta visits Mukhanyo on a regular basis as a visiting lecturer.
Prof Basilius Kasera
BTS, PGDipTE, MTh, joined the Namibia Evangelical Theological (NETS) in 2010, served as the Academic Dean (2012-2015) and lecturer of Systematic Theology and Contextual Theology. Besides teaching theology, he serves as council member on the National Council for Higher Education, theological advisor and speaker for the Southern African Christian Initiative, and as a part-time lecturer of philosophy and applied ethics at the University of Namibia. He is a visiting lecturer at Mukhanyo.
Drs Piet Houtman
M.Th., Theologische Universiteit Kampen, Netherlands. Certificate in journalism. Ministered in three subsequent churches in the Reformed Churches in the Netherlands (Liberated) for 25 years (1978-2003). He was a member of the Committee for Church Unity (ecumenical relations with other Reformed Churches). Besides, he explored missionary ministries in various parts of the world. He taught Pastoral Care in two Reformed institutes of higher education. From 2003 to 2008 he lived in Dehradun, India with his family, where he taught as a faculty member at the Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Apart from Mukhanyo, he teaches as a guest lecturer for Middle East Reformed Fellowship (MERF) in Lokichoggio, Kenya, to South Sudanese pastors and evangelists. One of his books is ‘This Is Your God!’: Preaching Biblical Theology (Delhi: ISPCK, 2010). He was part of the editorial board of various church magazines and regularly publishes articles on various topics and Bible studies. He is married and has a daughter and a son.
Rev Ronald Munyithya
BA Geneva College, MAR Westminster Theological Seminary USA, is a lecturer at Mukhanyo Theological College in the department of Biblical Studies. He is an ordained minister of Africa Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Kenya with 22 years of pastoral experience. He formerly was Lecturer at Westminster Theological Seminary & College Uganda and Nairobi Evangelical Graduate School of Theology (currently Africa International University) and Principal of Grace Bible College and Common Ground Theological Institute. He is married to Margaret and blessed with six children and four grand-children.
